Effective as of August 22, 2026
By renting bins from JoCo Bin Co ("JoCo," "we," "us"), you agree to these terms and conditions. This agreement governs the rental of moving bins and related equipment.
If bins are not returned or extended by the end of the rental period covered by the rate tier billed at booking, a 7-to-14-day upgrade charge is automatically applied where applicable (the difference between the 7-day and 14-day rate for your package, extending coverage through day 14). If bins remain unreturned past the 14-day mark from the original delivery date, an additional charge equal to the extra-week rate for your package is automatically applied for each additional week or partial week. Current rates are published on our Pricing page.
Returning bins before the end of your covered rental period is not late, even if it is after a pickup date you originally scheduled — JoCo will still attempt pickup on your scheduled date where possible, but no late fee applies until your paid coverage period has elapsed. No refund or credit is issued for returning bins before the end of the covered period.
Extension charges are calculated using JoCo's standard published rental-tier pricing, reflecting the value of continued use of the bins during the extended period — not a penalty. Customers may extend their rental for as long as needed, subject to bin availability, by contacting JoCo before the current rental period ends. There is no maximum extension period for a Customer who is actively communicating with JoCo and paying applicable extension charges as they accrue.
The provision below applies only where JoCo has received no communication from Customer regarding an unreturned rental. If bins remain unreturned for 2 consecutive weeks past the 14-day mark (28 total days from the original delivery date) with no communication from Customer, JoCo may, at its sole discretion, deem the bins abandoned, cease further extension charges, and charge the missing/damaged item fees described in Section 3 ($45 per bin, $95 per dolly) as full and final settlement for the unreturned bins. This does not waive JoCo's right to recover the bins or pursue any charges already accrued. The discounted Buyout Price described in Section 3 applies only where Customer proactively requests and pays for a buyout during the active rental period, and is not available to a Customer whose bins are deemed abandoned under this provision.
Customer represents that bins will not be used to transport any prohibited item listed above. Customer agrees to indemnify and hold JoCo harmless from any claim, loss, damage, fine, or liability arising from a breach of this representation.
Customer represents that they are at least 18 years of age and have the legal authority to enter this agreement and authorize the payment method provided. If Customer is booking on behalf of another person (for example, a parent booking for a student), Customer — not the person using the bins — is the responsible party for all charges under this agreement.
Normal wear and tear from careful moving is expected and covered at no additional cost.
Bins and dollies are inspected within 72 hours of return. This timeframe is for JoCo's internal operations only — it does not limit JoCo's right to charge applicable fees discovered after this window, nor does it shorten any applicable statute of limitations.
Before charging any fee under this section, JoCo will notify Customer by email or text describing the issue found and the fee that will be charged, and Customer will have 48 hours to respond before the charge is finalized. Applicable fees are then charged to the card on file, and an itemized receipt is sent by email.
By completing a booking, Customer authorizes JoCo to charge the payment method on file for: (a) rental fees, any extension charges under Section 1, and any additional bins or equipment added to an active rental at Customer's request; (b) a missing/damaged bin fee of up to $45 per bin and $95 per dolly; (c) a minor damage fee of up to $15 per bin; (d) a cleanliness fee of up to $10 per bin, as applicable, following the assessment and notification described above; (e) buyout charges of $29 per bin and $79 per dolly, where Customer has requested a buyout under this section; (f) delivery and pickup mileage fees and adjustments under Section 4, including any adjustment arising from a pickup address that differs from the address used to calculate the fee at booking; (g) the failed delivery/pickup fee described in Section 4; and (h) sales tax on any of the foregoing, and any sales tax adjustment described in Section 5. This authorization applies without need for an additional signature beyond acceptance of this agreement.
If you'd like to keep some or all of your bins or dollies instead of returning them, just let us know before your scheduled return date — buyout pricing is $29 per bin and $79 per dolly. Ownership of each bought-out bin or dolly transfers to Customer immediately upon payment, and JoCo retains no further responsibility for its condition or use going forward. This discounted rate is available only when a buyout is requested and paid for during the active rental period, before the scheduled return date.
If Customer buys out only some of the bins or dollies in an order, the remaining items continue under the standard rental terms and will be collected at the scheduled pickup as usual — a partial buyout does not affect the return of any other bins or dollies in the same order.
Bins or dollies that are not returned, not extended, and not bought out by the scheduled pickup date are instead subject to the missing/damaged item fees described above (and, where applicable, the Abandonment provision in Section 1) rather than the discounted Buyout Price. The discounted rate rewards a Customer who proactively communicates and settles during the rental — it is not available after the fact for items that simply weren't returned.
Delivery and pickup may take place at different addresses. Most moves work this way — bins are delivered to the origin home and collected from the destination home.
Customer should provide both the delivery address and the pickup address at booking. We understand the pickup address is not always known at that point — for example, where a closing date has not yet passed. If the pickup address is not provided at booking, Customer must provide it no later than 48 hours before the scheduled pickup date.
Where the pickup address is not provided at booking, the amount charged at booking covers the delivery trip only. The mileage fee for the pickup trip is calculated once Customer provides the pickup address and is charged at that time under the terms below. Leaving the pickup address blank at booking defers the pickup-trip mileage fee — it does not waive it.
If Customer does not provide a pickup address, JoCo will attempt pickup at the delivery address. A pickup attempt that fails because the bins are not at that address is treated as a failed attempt under this section.
If Customer runs short during an active rental, JoCo will supply additional bins where they are available. Availability is not guaranteed and is confirmed at the time of the request.
Additional bins are supplied in blocks of ten, priced at the difference between Customer's package and the next package size at the rental length already booked, as published on our Pricing page. Additional bins are covered through Customer's existing pickup date; adding bins does not begin a new rental period or extend the current one. A delivery trip to supply additional bins is charged under the mileage terms below, on the same basis as any other trip.
JoCo Bin Co is based in Overland Park, Kansas. Delivery and pickup are treated separately, and the rules for each are different.
JoCo delivers only to addresses located in Kansas, within Johnson County and the Kansas side of the Kansas City metro. This includes Overland Park, Olathe, Lenexa, Shawnee, Leawood, Merriam, Mission, Prairie Village, Roeland Park, Fairway, Westwood, Gardner, Spring Hill, De Soto, and Edgerton, among others.
As an alternative to delivery, Customer may arrange in advance to take possession of the bins at a Kansas location agreed with JoCo. Any such arrangement must be agreed before the rental begins.
JoCo does not deliver to addresses outside Kansas.
JoCo understands that many moves cross the state line. Pickup may take place at an address outside Kansas.
Customer must disclose a pickup address outside Kansas, or more than 35 miles from the reference point, at the time of booking or as soon as it is known. Where such an address is provided late, JoCo will quote the applicable fee at that time and may decline the pickup if it cannot be scheduled.
JoCo may decline any delivery or pickup address outside these limits, in which case JoCo and Customer will arrange an alternate location by mutual agreement.
Delivery and pickup are priced as two separate trips. Each trip is measured independently, as a one-way driving distance from a fixed reference point near 127th Street and Quivira Road, Overland Park, KS to the address for that trip, using standard driving-route mapping.
Because the two trips are measured separately, a delivery address within 10 miles and a pickup address beyond 10 miles will result in a mileage fee for the pickup trip only, and vice versa. For example, a location 25 miles from the reference point would incur a $30 charge for that trip (25 − 10 = 15 miles × $2.00).
Before charging any mileage fee — whether calculated at booking or at a later date under Fee Adjustments below — JoCo will notify Customer by email or text stating the address used, the distance, and the amount, before charging the card on file.
JoCo will calculate or recalculate the mileage fee for a trip under the terms above where: (a) Customer provides a pickup address after booking; (b) Customer changes the delivery or pickup address after booking; or (c) an address provided at booking proves to be inaccurate or incomplete, and the corrected address changes the distance for that trip.
If the calculated fee is higher than the amount already paid for that trip, JoCo will notify Customer by email or text stating the address used, the distance, and the additional amount, before charging the difference to the card on file. If the calculated fee is lower than the amount already paid, JoCo will refund the difference to the original payment method. Refunds and additional charges are handled the same way in either direction.
If you contact us in advance to reschedule, there's no charge. If a delivery or pickup attempt fails due to a customer access issue with no advance notice — including bins not being present or accessible at the pickup address — a $25 rescheduling fee applies. This fee does not apply where the failed attempt is caused by circumstances covered under Section 8 (Force Majeure).
All prices shown on our website and at checkout are exclusive of sales tax. Kansas sales tax is applied to rental charges, mileage fees, and other taxable goods and fees at the rate in effect for the address where the bins are delivered. Because that rate is determined by the delivery address, it may differ from the rate calculated at checkout.
Where the tax calculated at booking differs from the tax actually due — including as a result of the delivery or pickup address, a change or correction to an address, a change in the applicable tax rate, a promotional code or credit applied to the booking (see Section 6), or any charge added after booking — JoCo will adjust the tax accordingly. Where additional tax is due, JoCo may charge that amount to the card on file, and will notify Customer of the amount before doing so. Where tax was collected in excess of the amount due, JoCo will refund the difference to the original payment method.
JoCo may, in its sole discretion, decline to charge or refund a small difference in tax. Declining to do so in any instance is not a waiver of JoCo's right to make an adjustment in any other instance.
Promotional codes, discounts, and credits (including the JoCo Bin Co. Moving Credit) are subject to any additional terms disclosed to the purchaser at the time of issuance, in addition to the terms below.
Unless otherwise stated at issuance, promotional codes and credits:
Promotional codes and credits apply to rental charges and other listed charges only. Applicable sales tax is calculated as described in Section 5, is not covered by a promotional code or credit unless expressly stated at issuance, and may appear as a separate charge on Customer's receipt.
A third party may agree with JoCo Bin Co in advance to fund a Customer's booking up to a stated maximum amount, inclusive of sales tax. In that case: (a) the code issued to Customer reduces Customer's total by the funded amount only, and Customer remains responsible for any balance above it, including any mileage, add-ons, or other charges not covered; (b) JoCo Bin Co confirms the total with the funding third party before delivery, and may decline to deliver if that confirmation is not obtained; and (c) if the funding third party fails to pay an amount it has agreed to fund, JoCo Bin Co will pursue that party and not Customer, provided Customer has paid any balance owed under (a).
Use of a promotional code or credit does not create any partnership, agency, referral, or fee-sharing relationship between JoCo Bin Co and the third party who provided it. No fee, commission, or other compensation is paid by JoCo Bin Co to any third party in connection with a promotional code or credit.
JoCo Bin Co has no responsibility for the packing, condition, or contents of the bins. Customer is solely responsible for properly packing, securing, and insuring items placed in the bins. JoCo disclaims all liability for damage to, or loss of, Customer's personal property, whether or not caused by defects in the bins or dollies.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY KANSAS LAW, CUSTOMER ASSUMES ALL RISK OF INJURY ARISING FROM THE USE OF BINS AND DOLLIES, AND RELEASES JOCO FROM LIABILITY FOR ORDINARY NEGLIGENCE. THIS RELEASE DOES NOT APPLY TO JOCO'S GROSS NEGLIGENCE OR WILLFUL MISCONDUCT.
JoCo is not liable for consequential or indirect damages of any kind. In no event shall JoCo's aggregate liability to Customer exceed the total rental fees paid by Customer for the applicable rental.
Customer is responsible for insuring their own belongings and assumes all risk for bin contents. Customer agrees to indemnify JoCo Bin Co against claims arising from misuse of rented equipment.
JoCo Bin Co is not liable for delays or failure to perform due to circumstances beyond our control, including severe weather, natural disasters, traffic conditions, equipment failure, or other unforeseeable events. Delivery/pickup will be rescheduled at no additional charge to Customer in such cases.
This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Kansas, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Any dispute arising from this agreement shall be resolved in the small claims or state courts of Johnson County, Kansas, or, at JoCo's election, through binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. CUSTOMER AND JOCO EACH WAIVE THE RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS ACTION OR CLASS ARBITRATION AGAINST THE OTHER. Nothing in this section prevents either party from bringing an individual claim in small claims court.
If any legal action is brought to enforce this agreement, the prevailing party is entitled to recover its reasonable attorney's fees and costs.
By checking the agreement box at booking, you confirm that you:
JoCo Bin Co reserves the right to modify these terms. Material changes will take effect for new bookings made after the changes are posted to this page; changes do not apply retroactively to a rental already in progress.
This agreement, together with the pricing and policies referenced on JoCo's website at the time of booking, constitutes the entire agreement between Customer and JoCo and supersedes any prior or contemporaneous verbal representations.
If any provision of this agreement is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.
JoCo may decline or cancel any booking at its discretion, including for reasons of prior nonpayment, inaccessible delivery or pickup locations, or suspected misuse.
This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Kansas. Any disputes will be resolved as described in Section 9.
